Enneagram Enthusiast? Read This!

If you are not familiar with the enneagram test, I highly recommend you take it. Realistically, I know the test isn’t going to solve all of your problems, but it could explain why you behave the way you do. It’s a form of personality typing and can help you understand your strengths, challenges, and what your core desires and fears are…in other words, what matters to you! For example, as an enneagram 1 (this is Trinny by the way), I am a perfectionist through and through. I like to do thinks correctly and hold myself to a high standard most of the time. Personally, I like the enneagram test over other personality tests as it’s based on how you think instead of when you happened to be born like astrology does. That said, here are some common dietary habits associated with the different enneagram types. It’s important to note that this is not a guideline of how you should eat as a certain enneagram or to judge anyone’s eating patterns. I just think it’s a fun way to connect!

Enneagram 1: The Reformer

  • A great person to plan the menu for a party. Wants to help keep things in order and consume the best options for their tastes! Fun weekend plans include grocery shopping and meal planning.

Enneagram 2: The Helper

  • Likes to make food for other people and often gifts people things in the form of their favorite baked good. Don’t look to them as the deciding vote on where to eat…they want whatever you want!

Enneagram 3: The Achiever

  • May be found doing their weekly shopping at a bougie grocery store with an expensive wallet in hand. Is willing and ready to share tips for the best banana bread. (May be a cheese or coffee snob! lol)

Enneagram 4: The Individualist

  • May or may not have an Instagram dedicated to their incredibly unique dinner spreads. Ask them to set up your next brunch tablescape!

Enneagram 5: The Investigator

  • A wizard at making pastries. You’re not sure how, but they always seem to have tried every restaurant in the area and have detailed notes. (Like how did they even get that reservation?!)

Enneagram 6: The Loyalist

  • The best sous-chef…when they’re in the mood to cook. When they’re not, having a go-to meal delivery is always a good idea. (A good text beforehand with the anticipated recipe is always a good pulse check).

Enneagram 7: The Enthusiast

  • A 10/10 guest. Can simultaneously scrub that one insufferable pan clean and whip up a quick dessert. Thrives in your local Mexican restaurant on Taco Tuesday, with the latest trendy drink in hand, of course.

Enneagram 8: The Challenger

  • Will order for the table and ask the waiter for the check with hand signals. A lifesaver in that uncomfortable situation when you get the wrong dish! The pie bakeoff finally gets out of the group chat with their initiative.

Enneagram 9: The Peacemaker

  • An important person to have around the table at uncomfortable family gatherings or right after your latest situationship. 6 am yoga class with green juice after, anyone?

I hope you’ve enjoyed this walk down enneagram lane. I’d love to know what enneagram you are and if you have any diet and nutrition behavior you’d like to add!
